Ryan AQM-34L Firebee

Drones - remotely piloted vehicles - are nothing new. The Firebee was designed by the Ryan Aeronautical Company in 1951, and was used first as a trainer for ground-to-air and air-to-air combat, and later for unmanned electronic and photographic reconnaissance in Vietnam.

It was one of the first jet-propelled drones, and remains one of the most widely used target drones ever built.
